Sherley Naomy Hernández Mendez
Birthday: November 28
Institution: Pan y Vida School - 8th Grade
I live with my parents and my younger sister. My father is the one who works to provide for us, but sometimes my mom also helps him earn some extra income. My mother sells cakes occasionally. My father works in the national soccer federation (FEDEFUT).
I have been involved with Engadi Ministries in the School Supplies Program since 2016. When my parents found out about the program, they decided to enroll my sister and me.
One of the problems that affect us the most is lack of money. My father rides a motorcycle because we cannot afford a car, and he has suffered many accidents. There are also some weeks when we have to ration our food in order to survive.
One of my motivations to continue studying is that most people in my family have studied only until primary school, and I would like to be the first to go through college and graduate.
I would like to become a psychologist one day.
