Mozart Calderón

For most of my life, I have lived in children’s shelters.  My mother could not take care of me because she was working such long hours.

From the age of 3 to 6 years old, I was in a daycare, and from 7 to 13 years I lived in two childrens shelters.  Finally, at the age of 13, I moved back home with my mother for good.  Just two years later, when I was 15, my father died.

Now my mother has remarried.  I live with my three brothers, my mother, and her husband, but I don’t feel comfortable there with my stepfather.  Their constant problems and arguments make it an unstable home.  Lately, I have begun to realize that I have control issues from living in the children’s shelters.  I started middle school but failed my first year.  Thankfully, I heard about Engadi Ministries and decided to get in the Derek Program.  Engadi has helped me learn values, understand life better, and make better use of time.  Since participating in the Scholarship Program offered by Engadi, I have finished middle school and I am proud that I am currently studying accounting.

I would like to be a business administrator because I enjoy accounting and managing.
