I have been part of the Derek Group since 2019. My siblings and I live with our father and mother, who both provide for our family. Unfortunately my mother does not have a formal job. She works seasonally in a factory, and the rest of the year she sells street food or tries to sell any variety of things. As for my father, he does not have a formal job either. He does odd jobs and he does not have a fixed income. That’s the reason why they have trouble covering even the basics expenses.
I loved playing soccer until I had a brutal accident. The ball left the field and in order to get the ball, I had to climb a wall. When I got on the wall, the foundations did not hold, and the wall fell directly on my legs, crushing them. Because of that accident, I had to undergo surgery twice and also had to use crutches for over a year. That was probably the most difficult situation I have had to overcome in my life. Still, I don’t let that stop me from continuing to assist the Derek Group.
I am friendly and sociable. I have always been taught that I must seek to finish my studies, and I have always been motivated to become a professional. For that reason I want to become a translator and tour guide in Guatemala.
